“Ever thang's gonna be alright . . . everybody must get stoned.”
Right here in this backyard, on my Samsung tablet, and next ~ Hurricane Barry!
The sky is clear, eighty degrees, and a pleasant breeze. Yard work is enjoyable.
“It never ends,” he remarks. Something we both appreciate. My neighbor has dysgraphia, he says, meaning he gets spoken words and can read. He's good with tools, makes things for maintaining houses, but he cannot write.
Last week, while we were sitting on the brick half-wall, the conversation drifted somewhat. “I'm just a drop of water in the ocean.” And I agreed, wanting to say more. But he had to go inside, to fix something in the kitchen, from the sound of it.
An article about Area 51 says some sort of gathering is taking place. There's a shot of the road sign showing a cartoon image of a flying saucer. And the perimeter is posted: PHOTOGRAPHY OF THIS AREA IS PROHIBITED
Include the weather forecast predicting a storm surge, a relentless deluge of heavy rain, and getting all of this at once is quite a stretch. A small, slim bird lands in the bird bath for a dip.
What I wanted to say about the ocean was that sometimes it gets a rogue wave, powerful, almost like a hurricane. And not one of the rogue drops intends a wave. It's a rogue because of our wave expectations.
The little bird, did it intend those waves in the bird bath?
And Hurricane Barry? I wouldn't say Mother Nature intended it. Humans were just going about our normal business and, at first, didn't notice a slight increase in overall air temperature. And then we did. And now it's not slight, and we know why. If the known cause remains unaddressed, can it be called unintentional?
Greenhouse earth? We can reverse this effect. The alternative is already manifest. I intend for us to develop fusion power. It must be an all-out effort, one to make the Manhattan Project seem small and ill conceived. There is no nation on earth outside the greenhouse. History has not seen everyone, everywhere, simultaneously heading for extinction. Too much carbon dioxide is just one part of our suicidal path.
I want this planet to not be burdened with too many mouths to feed. Life needs food, water, shelter and space to grow. We do not know of intelligent beings on any other planet, and self-realization is the apex of our intelligent life.
Unseen influences, insignificant in isolation, cause a gathering. A rogue wave does not cause itself. The result comes unexpectedly. It's a lot for one backyard to fit in, and words are insufficient anyway. Pictures, though not prohibited here, are not enough either. After just one click, both before and after, “It never ends.”
