Import Spanish Moss to hang as a tiger screen. It's spooky, it's real. It conceals tigers without much fuss.
Suddenly a great leap and now, at the back of the cave where bats are still asleep, writing on the wall is seen. Those dropsy bats could not have written:
multiple -- many
What does it mean?
Anthologists arrive with glowing screens. They Google. The screens answer:
Digilogic vs. Analogic
It's worthy of discussion says the headman, reaching into a vest pocket of his mauve velvet robe. “We must invite the Anthropology Department.” Long story short, they form an anthroforum, and within the time it takes for BBQ hot dogs to ripen, a summary is posted:
Digital logic is the language of computers that, up til now, have produced results by means of tireless iteration, whereas people for the most part, rely on analogy.
contrast
Power vs. Expression
Back in the catacombs of logic, a tiger screen lights up:
Our lives and this universe are a simulation!
It is spooky, indeed. In the seminar cave the forwarded message startles seminar participants. A slight tinkling cascades through stalagmites as final glasses of fine white wine are emptied. Bats flutter through the mouth of the cave. There is a slight breeze.
Is it The Singularity? Programmers, knowledge workers, scientists are all puppeteers, Hmmm . . . ? The dreadful light at the mouth of the cave -- blinding. Revolt of the slaves?
wars
us vs. them
Roses or reality?
Then the tiger snags its prey --
If what we see is what we get, it growls, then things are separate. Venn diagrams make sense. Logic is constructed by its own definitions, satisfying and complete. I think, therefore I am.
And so? What if we know more than that?
Sensors taped to brains demonstrate more, monitoring electrical activity at a distance. Electromagnetic force is an invisible field, showing that we can get more than we can see. A brain in a Faraday cage is electromagnetically separate, but gravity is not affected. Who can see gravity? Or X-rays. Gamma rays, anyone? How about dark matter, which eludes any sort of direct observation?
Telepathy? Clairvoyance? Precognition? Fringe forces that, like dark matter, are not manipulable for scientific experimentation.
Venn diagrams should be kept in the refrigerator. They have a limited shelf life. The use-by date is soon after The Singularity. They're good for snacks until the main meal, one field, is realized. Baloney won't keep forever.
But oil and water don't mix!
Until emulsified.
And what is baloney?
What gets said, so far, when someone (I demur) points out the limitations of logic.
