a factory of ideas lies pulsating in imagination

black smokers on the continental rift

fire dragons

barren winter trees

stifle dreams of spring

twitter bits scavenge seeds

stark sunlight is a merciless joy that seems relentless

how endless the procession

nether land has drifted

so far this intangible reality has slipped through clumsy gloves

to reach the secret heart of souls who live right here

looking nothing like worms or dragons

maybe the cashier at our Arco station

his bearded impossible effervescent smile

cheerfulness an infectious virus that spreads everywhere

bringing gratefulness to the most mundane

and so right here

amongst honorable peers

the secret heart of winter trees

is breathing

merging with traffic on the Lawrence Expressway

is a disappearance in plain sight

while no one looks there is no I

a flight of crows passes the unknown meridian

freedom of days and stop lights beyond count

I turn on the heater to care for invisible toes

the engine hums, still mellow after fifty odd years

no accounting for one who has forgotten

sky streaked with grey that also vanishes

following crows

ordinary life becomes itself

landscaping a zendo with discarded broken concrete

replacing a worn out toilet

yelling medfly! from atop a walnut tree

chasing illusions that flump on cold flattened tires

god, are you listening?

the invisible one laughs

no answer

how wonderful!

SAGE RIDERS

gamma rays pass through cherry blossoms

oblivious to throngs of viewers

however delicate

 red scintillations

shimmering on water

the human cloud is blown by agitation

pierced with meditations

sage and thyme

corral sponges

spider webs from Australia

lofted over the rise and fall of régimes

bring a necessity for pruning trees

an email from my sister in Hawaii

brings photographs

just seeing people

who defy the usual principal

all of us drifting slowly along

may take longer than spider webs that

despite delicacy

 crossed an orange horizon
