TWILIGHT TEA
In shadows of tall buildings, there seems a twilight of malaise --
No way to sell cars, this. Driverless or not. And it lacks the gung ho needed for launch on warning. Here is what's not showing up on the evening news.
The meltdown won't be over any time soon. Even if everyone got wise tomorrow and emissions dropped to zero, the change has its own momentum. And human nature also evolves slowly.
Stories with forgone conclusions are celebrated in the walled gardens of literature, with gabled gates and stepping stones carefully set. But sometimes, just on the way to somewhere, at a lookout point for maybe a hawk, motion ceases. Then a relaxed mind will co-operate, stopping to sit for no other reason. What to look at. What to do, does it matter? What a boon.
What's needed is insight, to balance oversight which has already done more than enough.
Now imagine a cargo ship at sea, and the inertia invested in its continued course. If met by an equal and opposite force, mutual destruction would result. It might better be influenced by changes to the rudder. In any case, insight does not evolve by physical force.
An excess of oversight will not be balanced by more of the same. Insight doesn't come in boxes that can be counted and measured. It's more a matter of what not to do.
Beneath conscious awareness, insight proceeds in a way not readily observed. In fact, the less done, the better. By not pursuing thoughts, let the mind empty itself. They gradually diminish. Busy plans of oversight can wait. No need for a struggle. Emptiness has its basis everywhere, and letting the mind rest is a great relief.
Lack of conflict in one mind affects minds everywhere. Even if this is not provable or measurable in terms of the usual five senses, when it happens physical evidence becomes unimportant. Insight brings appreciation of our shared world, the only one so far discovered that supports consciousness. This in itself is a course correction, inevitably affecting others.. Imagine birds on the wing, flying in awareness of each other to form a hand that stretches fingers, playing with unseen currents. Each bird unknowingly creating the course of the whole flight --
