UNSEEN UNIVERSE
That high school business materialized a sense of mystery, where black and white images magically appeared in a developing tray. And now, detected even as it passes right through ordinary matter, and stranger than science fiction, comes Dark Matter -- limitless, pervasive. How do we know? It is noticed when light bends around stars, an effect called gravitational lensing. The known mass of a star will cause a certain amount of bending. More than that is the telltale sign. DM's concomitant, Dark Energy, is calculated by: Energy equals Mass times c(speed of light) squared. Both phenomena lack an explanation. And both, for convenience, are here labeled the DM realm.

Eyes in our familiar Electro Magnetic realm are clearly extensions of the brain. As noted in 1965 by Edwin Land, eyes and brain together comprise one organ, which he named the mind/brain computer. The three primary colors of red, blue and green are sufficient for color vision, but so are just two, narrowly separated. The requirement for these two is that they be distributed in a way similar to what the mind/brain computer previously experienced in real life situations. He used this in his revolutionary, full color, picture-in-a-minute Polaroid Land Camera.
In Land's discovery as well as in philosophy, religion, psychology and cognitive science, a putative mind is theorized, about as well understood as the theories of gravity, electrons, subatomic particles, quantum mechanics. These theories are bolstered with observations, experiments, and testable hypotheses that yield laws, prompting further speculations, followed by new iterations of the scientific method.
Anyone with a mind/brain, whether a science fiction author or a hard science professional, can speculate. Playing outside the box is not only fun but also leads to new science and technology, perhaps undreamt. And everyone dreams. A dream, unbidden, can be a real discovery, as in the interesting story of: The Benzene Molecule! .

Stars and galaxies, studied for astronomical information, are also rhapsodized, engaged in speculative dreams, and countable in the billions with planets orbiting and . . . what are the odds? Are we alone? It seems unlikely and yet, with optical telescopes looking, radio ears listening – where are they, the Extraterrestrial Civilizations?
We probably are relative newcomers to the universe. If one or more elder ETCs exist, might they communicate? We don't know. But perhaps, with the advantage of more R&D time, they have chosen DM technology.
Is our technology outdated? Isn't this topsy turvy, being overlooked in a beacon of Darkness? Either inadvertently or conveniently are we, in this Age of Enlightenment, the exception that proves the rule?
What is happening here, beneath the EM radar?
Before we gathered in the EM corral, Eastern philosophy and “nature” religions were describing a Yin/Yang universe, Light and Dark interweaving. Personal experience, then, was not suspect. Rather, it was often revered: Buddhism, Christianity, Islam. From inside the box, though, such experiences are deemed anecdotal, and are excluded from scientific credibility.

Carrying a package of photos, a tech writer en route Highway 101, heading for Moore Systems on Bordeaux Drive in Sunnyvale, drove by Moffett Field. Beneath the flight path a swath of green, the Sunnyvale golf course. Though most drivers would keep their eyes on the road, one need only look to the right for a head-on view of the planes coming in.
Something yanked my head! locked my eyes on the propeller cones, ominously black:
IT'S GOING TO CRASH!
But seconds later: not this one . . .
Whew! ha, ha . . .
Arriving at Moore Systems, I parked. Photos in hand, I opened the large glass lobby doors and, people inside were staring over my shoulder. Out past the freeway, over the golf course, high in the air a plume of black smoke was rising. I stumbled into the fancy chair.
“A plane just crashed!”

Not just neatly defined and separated by millions of vacant light years, galaxies are central clumps of ordinary matter, with Dark Matter extending out into neighboring galaxies. People with psi experience, where both telepathy and precognition ignore lead walls, space and time, are bemused.
Anecdotal?
Might this description characterize radio reception? Consider that during a solar flare, or if the receiver is tuned to the wrong signal, or if the antenna is not pointed in the right direction, sporadic signals might be regarded as hearsay, or at least unreliable.
Then consider reports about Edgar Cayce, dubbed the Sleeping Prophet, or Mina Crandon, called the Witch of Lime Street, or J. B. Rhine's research at Duke University. The psi phenomena reported were sporadic, eventually resulting in scientific dismissal. Also noted at the time, however, was that the receivers involved were influenced by weather, moods, and mind/brain states (tangential or contradictory intents) that became psychic noise.
Acceptance of all this might be inconvenient. Consider that lifetimes and an accumulation of hundreds of years of intellectual treasure, elegant and useful theories with perceived beauties, are vested in current certainties. Nonetheless, properties of the DM realm have added convergent indications of psi phenomena, making the case for summary dismissal untenable.
And now, setting aside current speculations on time warps and folded space, consider that EM light and energy travel at the same speed. Dark Energy travels at what speed? We do not know. So just for fun then, let's speculate it travels at psi speed, beyond space and time.
